Setting out on July 24th, 2015, Cassie just finished on February 2nd, this year.

Costing an estimated £160,000, mainly covered by sponsors, she was traveling on behalf of the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism.

The journey, called Expedition196, involved Cassandra travelling as an Ambassador for Peace on behalf of the International Institute.

The aim behind the institute is to “identify strategies and best practice in creating productive, sustainable, peaceful and welcoming communities through tourism, culture and sport and to share experiences and insights in identifying the potential roles of tourism in reconciliation and socio-economic re-development of countries that have experienced conflict with the aim of building sustainable and peaceful nations.”
